Lakeside High School is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Assistant Athletic Trainer/Classroom Teacher to join our team. This dual-role position combines the responsibilities of providing athletic training services under the supervision of the Head Athletic Trainer with teaching responsibilities in Sports Medicine, Foundations of Healthcare, or Anatomy and Physiology. The ideal candidate will have a passion for student health and wellness, strong instructional skills, and the ability to collaborate with staff, students, and families.
Key Responsibilities:
Assistant Athletic Trainer Duties:

• Assist the Head Athletic Trainer with prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.
• Provide emergency care and first aid at practices, games, and school-related athletic events (including evenings and weekends as needed).
• Maintain accurate records of injuries, treatments, and communications with parents, coaches, and physicians.
• Assist with the coordination of athletic physicals and injury screenings.
• Collaborate with coaches, school nurses, and physicians to ensure student-athlete health and safety.
• Support the implementation of injury prevention programs and strength and conditioning initiatives.

Classroom Teacher Duties:

• Teach courses in Sports Medicine, Foundations of Healthcare, and Anatomy and Physiology to high school students.
• Develop engaging, standards-based lesson plans that support diverse learners.
• Assess student progress and provide regular feedback to students and parents.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment.
• Integrate real-world healthcare and sports medicine practices into the curriculum.
• Participate in curriculum development, school committees, professional learning communities, and continuing education.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.

Salary ranges from a minimum ($56,368) to a maximum ($81,027) - based on the 2024/25 salary schedule for a 210 day contract. Salary is based on experience. A complete salary schedule can be found on our school website.
