Job Description

This role involves assisting with and supervising all aspects of Human Resources, including labor relations, recruitment, benefits, training, associate relations, safety, Workers Compensation, liability prevention, and legal compliance.

Responsibilities
  1. Supervise and train the HR team members, both hourly and management staff.
  2. Provide counsel to the Director of Human Resources (DHR) on policies, culture, and leadership.
  3. Implement and recommend training and development programs based on organizational needs.
  4. Conduct investigations and assist in employment decisions with senior leadership.
  5. Assist in responding to employment litigation from federal and state agencies.
  6. Fulfill HR responsibilities in the absence of the Director, communicating with property leadership as needed.
  7. Guide department heads and leaders on employee relations, ensuring adherence to Omni culture and legal standards.
  8. Help develop and maintain a succession plan across hotel departments.
  9. Ensure all benefits programs are correctly implemented.
  10. Oversee onboarding and termination processes in line with Omni standards.
  11. Maintain legal compliance and keep the team updated on relevant legislation.
  12. Maintain all associate files neatly and organized.
  13. Plan and execute quarterly associate events and recognition programs.
  14. Implement wage, salary, performance appraisal, and salary increase programs according to standards.
  15. Develop effective recruitment strategies, including job fairs and community outreach.
  16. Promote Omni culture and Six Pillar philosophy through consistent communication.
  17. Document associate issues accurately and timely, following disciplinary procedures to mitigate legal liability.
  18. Monitor departmental expenses to ensure alignment with budgets.
  19. Fulfills additional management requests and conducts exit interviews for departing associates.
Qualifications

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience in Human Resources.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a leadership role within HR.
  • Significant employee relations experience, including investigations and grievance management.
  • Solid background in employee relations, benefits, training, safety, liability avoidance, and compliance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to coach and motivate at all levels.

Preferred:

  • Experience in hotels or resorts is highly preferred.
  • SPHR or AHLA CHRE Certification is preferred.
  • Experience in training and development programs.
  • Large hotel or resort experience is a plus.
  • Operations management experience is advantageous.
