SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

The part time Extra Help worker will play a vital role responsible for providing efficient, day-to-day customer service and direct interaction with library users, providing assistance with resources and circulation, and ensuring a positive library experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Checking materials in and out.
• Assisting patrons with finding and using library resources.
• Works to resolve patron inquiries and issues.
• Greets library patrons.
• Perform other duties as assigned by full time library staff.
• Works scheduled hours which may include some evening and weekend hours.

Required skills/abilities:

• Deliver courteous customer service.
• Follow directions and campus/library policies.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization.
• Work independently or as part of a team.
• Demonstrate reliability and strong attendance.
• Stay detail-oriented and organized in a fast-paced environment.

Education and Experience:

• Proven ability to interact effectively with the public.
• Some proficiency in Microsoft Office products is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Stand for extended periods of time.
• Reach overhead and bend or crouch as needed.
• Lift and move items up to 50 lbs.
